philox_uniform
std.seq.philox_uniform · Level L5Uniform draws in (0, 1) from Philox4x32-10, one per counter, under a key: 52 bits, the high 20 of the first word and all 32 of the second, as (v + ½)/2⁵². Exact in float64, and never 0 or 1. A key is a stream; counters 0, 1, 2, … are its draws, reproducible on every backend.
Signature
philox_uniform(counter: i64[n], key: i64[2]) → f64[n]
Structure
The function as NOVA stores it: one box per input, operation and output, and arrows that carry values. A double border marks another library function this one runs — called once, or by Scan once per element; select it to open that function.

Verification
- Signature proven by NOVA’s shape solver, for every size.
- Equal to the reference
(v + 1/2)/2^52 exactly, v from Philox4x32-10 on Python intsin exact rational arithmetic, on all 40 test cases. - All 171 float64 results are exact: the error is zero.
- Interpreter and NumPy backend return bit-identical results.
- correctly rounded (the float64 nearest the exact value)
- 100%
- bit-equal to the NumPy formula in float64
- 100%
- largest error, in units in the last place
- 0

- no capability: a pure function
Through NOVA’s control layer, the symbol launches this function only while the program still matches what it pins: a change to this graph, or to any graph it reaches, needs a migration first.
